The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the Star-studded commentary panel for ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday.

The commentary panel includes cricketing legends and renowned broadcasters, but only Russel Arnold represents this panel from Sri Lanka.

 

According to the ICC announcement, former World Cup winning captains Ricky Ponting and Eoin Morgan will join the ICC.tv’s coverage (pre-match show, an innings interval programme and a post-match wrap-up)
during the tournament

 

How many commentators will join the tournament?

 

31 commentators will join the ICC World Cup 2023. Accordingly Seven Australians and six Indians have been named to the commentary panel, while three South Africans are also included.

 

Additionally, Eoin Morgan, Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton, Mark Nicholas and Ian Ward will join the tournament representing England from the commentary box.

 

Although West Indies have not qualified for the tournament, Samuel Badree and Ian Bishop will represent the commentary panel.

 

The 2023 World Cup is scheduled to be held across 10 venues in India from October 5 to November 19 and the final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Sri Lanka will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 7 in Delhi and then they will compete against Pakistan on October 10.

 

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of the tournament, and 10 teams will be part of this year’s World Cup.

Each team plays the other nine in a round robin format, with the top four teams going on to the semi-finals.
